Sustainability At Our School
At Brandon Park, we value our responsibilities of caring for the environment.
The Green Team
One of the core values of Brandon Park PS is Sustainability – ‘we care for the environment to make the world a better place’ and this is the Green Team’s main focus. The Green Team consists of passionate and dedicated students and teachers from across the school. We have 6 staff and over 60 students from Years 3 to 6 involved in the group who all work together to bring Sustainability in focus for our school community.
A few of the Green Team’s responsibilities are to regularly empty the paper recycling tubs, feed and look after the worm farms, the compost bins and tend to the gardens. We have three raised garden beds full of vegetables and herbs that are cared for on a weekly basis. These were built by one of our BPPS families last year!
We have been involved with Monash Council as well. They have helped us plant indigenous shrubs and bushes around our school and we have planted small seedlings for one of the parks in Monash.
We celebrate Earth Hour, National Tree Day, Outside Classroom Day, Aussie Backyard Bird Count and many more worthy causes and activities throughout the year!

Clean up Australia Day!
At Brandon Park, we want to clean our school and keep it clean and trash-free! We wear gloves and garbage bags to pick up as much rubbish as we can!
